Quite a few crafting books I’ve read lately have me on a roll. The latest is “The Handmade Marketplace“, by Kari Chapin. The book is loaded with great tips, information, and others’ experiences! And it’s illustrated by Emily Martin (The Black Apple)!
“All crafts are fair game to me—the only thing in my way from using a supply/medium is time, sometimes the know-how, and sometimes the equipment. I can usually find all three if I am dead set on learning something.” —Amy Karol (angrychicken.typepad.com)
I love that quote!
The Handmade Marketplace is boken down into 3 main categories:
- Getting to know yourself and your business
- Spreading the word—and images
- Getting down to selling
I’ve been so inspired over the last week (beginning with Scoutie Girl’s zine) that I’ve remapped my vision for my online business! I’ve already secured a new Etsy shop, a domain name, set up an email account, and am working on the logo idea. More importantly, the newly-named shop will be more in line with who I am rather than what I’m going to sell. Stay tuned…
